For Robin and Jason, becoming Premier Pools & Spas franchise owners wasn't always part of the plan. Their journey began with first-hand experience, an unexpected introduction to the Premier family, and a feeling that stayed with them long after they returned home.
Today, they are serving Indian River and Brevard County,Florida communities while being part of what Robin describes as a "big,beautiful, warm family."
Robin brings backgrounds in design, architecture, marketing,and business ownership. Jason earned degrees in marketing and communications before eventually stepping away from the corporate environment and entering thepool industry.
Jason quickly found that he enjoyed the variety the industryoffered, from spending time outdoors to watching customers’ backyards transform.
“He fell in love with being outside, new adventures everyday, and watching the excitement of clients as their backyards weretransformed,” Robin shared. “He said to me, ‘It’s a fun business to be a partof!’”
While Jason was already working with Premier, Robin’sintroduction to the larger franchise network happened during a company retreat.
Robin arrived at the retreat unsure of what to expect. As the group gathered, Premier Pools & Spas founder Paul Porter stepped ontotheir bus to welcome everyone personally.
At the time, Robin didn’t know who he was, only that hiswarmth and enthusiasm immediately stood out.
Throughout the retreat, that same welcoming spiritcontinued. Robin watched franchise owners exchange advice, share theirexperiences, encourage newcomers, and celebrate one another’s accomplishments.
“It was the first time I had witnessed anything like that, that felt genuine, I mean, really genuine,” she recalled. “Right there, alittle seed was planted with me.”
After returning home, Robin told Jason, “That’s somethingI’d like to be a part of.”
The two continued discussing the possibility of ownershipand decided that if their local territory was available, they would take it asa sign to move forward. When they discovered that it was, their journeyofficially began.
Because Jason was already familiar with Premier, Robin andJason entered the discovery process with an understanding of the brand and itsculture. Their time with the team at Premier’s offices in Franklin, Tennessee,helped reinforce that it was the right fit for them.
When asked what has stood out most about their experience,Robin continually returns to one word: support.
“I guess it’s the support. I keep repeating that, so yes,it’s the support,” she said. “At every turn, you are supported.”
From training and established systems to ongoing guidanceand access to the broader franchise network, Robin says they have never felt asthough they were navigating ownership alone.
“I feel like we have personal cheerleaders along the way wholift you up, tell you how great you’re doing, and encourage you to keep going,” she shared. “It’s an amazing feeling and family to be a part of.”
Now in their first year as Premier Pools & Spas franchise owners, Robin and Jason are looking forward to continuing to build their business and reconnecting with the fellow franchise owners who encouraged them along the way.
Their experience has also given Robin a clear answer for anyone considering taking a similar step:
“Just take the plunge! You won’t regret it. It’s the best thing we’ve ever done for ourselves!”
For Robin and Jason, joining Premier has meant more than business ownership. It meant becoming part of a family that made them feel welcomed before their journey even began.
As Robin puts it: “It’s a big, beautiful, warm family to be a part of. We love what we do.”
